Challenge
The challenge at hand involves designing Cleo, a Chrome Extension that transforms the way shoppers save money by purchasing discounted, unused gift cards seamlessly during their online shopping experience. Cleo aims to provide shoppers with an experience akin to applying a coupon, with the extension conveniently popping up, mirroring the simplicity of other popular coupon Chrome extensions.
In addition to designing this intuitive and shopper-friendly Chrome Extension, the project extends to creating a marketplace where users with gift cards can easily list and sell them for cash. The goal is to make the marketplace user-friendly and efficient for all participants.
Further, a landing page must be developed to effectively communicate the value proposition of Cleo and attract potential users. The landing page should serve as a gateway to the Chrome Extension and the marketplace, engaging visitors and inspiring them to explore and utilize Cleo's innovative features.
Process
Understanding the Product Concept and User Insights: We kick off our process by gaining a comprehensive understanding of the Cleo products. This also involved gathering valuable insights from potential users to inform our design decisions.
Defining the Target Audience: Our first step is to pinpoint the specific target audience for Cleo. This entails identifying their needs, pain points, and preferences, providing the foundation for tailoring our design to resonate with the intended users.
Wireframing the Landing Page: We craft a preliminary wireframe for the landing page, outlining the layout and content. This stage focuses on incorporating key elements of the Chrome extension, including user flows, strategic call-to-actions, and a streamlined sign-up and checkout process.
Designing the Chrome Extension and Web-Based Marketplace: With the wireframe approved, we proceed to the design phase. This stage encompasses the development of the Chrome extension and the web-based marketplace. It involves implementing branding elements such as color schemes, fonts, and imagery while optimizing layout and design for mobile responsiveness and a seamless user experience.
Crafting Persuasive Copy: Effective copy is vital to the landing page's success. We devote special attention to composing persuasive and engaging content that clearly communicates the value proposition of the Chrome extension and marketplace. Our copy addresses the specific pain points of the target audience and encourages them to download Cleo to save while shopping and make an account to upload all of their gift cards to monetize them.

Enhanced Shopper Engagement: Cleo's Chrome Extension has achieved remarkable results so far. The engagement, retention, and conversion to purchase gift cards as big higher than expected.
Enhanced Seller Participation: Our user-centric design for Cleo's Marketplace has led to great results. We brainstormed with the Cleo team to include a wallet feature that would encourage users to upload all of their gift cards. This in return has helped them increase the number of gift cards for sale on the platform too.
Revenue Growth: The Cleo team has been ecstatic about the speed that they're reaching their revenue milestones. The Chrome extension is converting at a high rate and there is a bright future ahead here.
